!Q: What is "Get in the Game"?
The "Get in the Game" capital giving campaign is our opportunity to take advantage of all that God has given us to continue to improve our church campus so we can make a God-sized dent in Easton and the surrounding communities. The purpose of this three-year program is to encourage people to willingly grow in the grace of giving - without coercion or pressure. When this happens, God can use us to accomplish His will for His church and to meet the needs of our community.
Q: What's the game plan?
- Re-pave & expand our parking lot to accomodate growth (this will include re-grading and drainage)
- Build a new 2000 square foot office building on the east side of the family life center (replacing the mobile home)
- Replace the roof on the worship center & social hall
- Build a quality playground for children 5 and under on the east side of the family life center
- Upgrade our sound & video systems in the worship center
- Upgrade the gym floor in the family life center
- Adopt a Gulf Coast church in need of help following the hurricanes
Q: What's the cost?
Our original estimated cost was approximately $400,000, which has proven to be low.
- We are still unsure what the parking lot re-paving/upgrade will cost.
- The office building will end up with an approximate total of $250,000.
- The roof replacement is approximately $25,000.
- The playground will cost (including fencing & curbing) about $30,000.
- The worship center upgrade has run about $18,000.
- The gym floor upgrade (added in 2007) cost us about $5,000.
- We have been giving 5% of our annual Get in the Game giving, which is approx. $9,000.
Q: Where are we with each project?
- We are still discussing the particulars of the parking lot project... the funding is the biggest issue here.
- The office building is up - we need to do the painting, carpet-laying, & finishing inside the building.
- When the interior of the buidling is finished, we need to finish the east parking lot section & landscape to get final approval.
- The roof replacement is the last of our priorities.
- The playground is completed... there will be more finishing work done when the office is complete as part of the landscaping.
- The worship center upgrade is complete.
- The gym floor upgrade is complete... and are using it for men's basketball and youth events.
- We continue to give & pray for churches in the areas hit by Katrina & Rita - we are working with NAMB (the North American Mission Board) to make sure our funds get to the right places.
